Brian Carpentier, Senior Manager of Network Design at TreeHouse Foods, shares how his team is using Lyric to power network optimization across a complex and seasonal supply chain.

TreeHouse Foods is a private label manufacturer of snacks and beverages, operating more than 20 plants across categories including crackers, cookies, coffee, and chicken broth. Brian discusses the challenges of assigning the right DC to customers, managing warehouse capacity, balancing seasonality, handling customers who don’t take all product categories, and understanding the impact of consolidation decisions on shipment sizes and overall transportation costs.

He explains that Lyric stood out for its highly composable platform — allowing him to create solutions for business users who are comfortable in spreadsheets while still leveraging the power of optimization. The team is building a network optimization model that integrates company data into the Lyric environment, includes an ETL solution, runs on a set schedule, and generates iterative models with a rolling 12-month view to evaluate customer assignment sensitivity.

In one word, Brian describes Lyric as: Creativity.
