Roberto Mendoza is Senior Manager of Global Supply Chain Network Optimization at Suntory Global Spirits, home to Jim Beam, Maker's Mark, a large Japanese whisky portfolio and El Tesoro tequila.

Decisions used to take a long time. The work was manual, most of it lived in Excel, and even a finished plan was static, so nobody could be sure it was the best one available.

The shift came in a senior leadership meeting. Instead of presenting a PowerPoint, Roberto opened the app his team built in Lyric Studio and answered the questions in the room by rerunning scenarios live.

He also discusses the model his team is building for transitioning SKUs between manufacturing sites, the work with the Liquid Planning team on predicting how much bourbon will be available each year, and an intern who picked the platform up in a couple of months. On the work itself: "The work that we do in Lyric Studio has been really, really fun."
